  Leo Club of the University of Colombo – Bus Repair Project: Phase One Successfully Completed! Leo Club of the University of Colombo proudly celebrates the successful completion of Phase One of our six-phase community service project. This meaningful initiative aims to support the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) by collecting funds and providing volunteer assistance to repair broken-down buses, helping strengthen Sri Lanka’s public transport system and ensure the safety of passengers across the country. Why We Chose This Project This project was inspired by our deep concern for passenger safety. In recent months, Sri Lanka has witnessed several tragic bus accidents — including the Alla-Wellawaya bus accident — which highlighted the urgent need for better maintenance and safety in public transportation. Happy Hearts  A celebration of joy & inclusion On the 5 th of October 2025 the Leo Club of University of Colombo organized a heartfelt Children’s Day project titled ‘Happy Hearts’ at WP/K/Sri Chandrasekara Special school, Horethuduwa, Moratuwa. The event which began at 10;30 AM, was planned with immense love and care to bring smiles and happiness to the wonderful children of the school. With the spirit of service at its core, this project was not only a celebration of Children’s Day but also a powerful reminder of how small acts of kindness can create meaningful impact in the lives of others. The Leos dedicated their time and effort to make the children feel valued, accepted and loved all while creating an atmosphere of warmth, joy and genuine human connection. The day’s activities were filled with excitement and vibrate energy. Children were encouraged to take the stage and sing, dance and showcase their talents.
