Kruthaguna 4.0

  Ensuring and uplifting the physical and mental status of senior citizens should be paid more attention where the population is rapidly aging. By taking this into consideration Leos of University of Colombo has organized the project “Kruthaguna 4.0” for the fourth consecutive year under the category of “Senior Citizen Development”.  From the overall population of Sri Lanka around 2.3 Mn is represented by the senior citizens who are above 55 years. Senior citizens are a valuable asset mainly because they are the ones who have gained a sound knowledge and great experience. A country can make use of these knowledge and experience in a more productive way for the development of a country. Therefore, it is our responsibility to protect them and ensure that they are secured. The physical health of them should be maintained in a good manner and enough attention should be paid on having regular medical check ups and recognizing whether there are any diseases in their bodies or not. “හිතැති මනුදම” | Phase 3 of the Project Be their Vision 6.0

  Be Their Vision is a project executed under the Category of Vision by the Leo Club of University Colombo for the sixth consecutive year. After successfully completing the first two phases, the third step, which involved an equipment donation to the National Eye Hospital's Vision Therapy Unit, was completed on February 3, 2022. Vision therapy is a progressive program of vision procedures, customized to fit the visual needs of each patient, and it may be used to treat problems such as amblyopia (lazy eye), eye alignment, and coordination problems (including turned eyes or squints), poor focus, and inadequate eye-hand coordination. Project Nisagini " The First Bite "

  Project නිසාගිනි of Leo Club of the University of Colombo focuses on relieving hunger and promoting health. Following its original aim in contributing to these Sustainable Development Goals, නිසාගිනි 4.0 is organized as a three-phased project. The first phase, “පළමු කට #The First Bite” was successfully completed on 16th of January via Zoom platform and the session was also live-streamed via Facebook. The session was conducted on these online platforms enabling the public to be able to access the session comfortably, and effectively without facing any difficulty. This session was conducted bilingually on the theme “Food Patterns and Healthy Eating” from 6.30 P.M onwards, with the collaboration of Dr. Himalee De Silva, Senior Lecturer, Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo.
