Ashirwada pooja'24
On July 14, 2024, the Leo Club of University of Colombo conducted Ashirwada pooja'24, an inspiring initiative aimed at promoting interfaith harmony. Under this program, the club members visited four of the most well-known places of worship in Bambalapitiya: Pillayar Kovil, Jumma Masjid, Meththaramaya Temple, and St. Mary's Church. By seeking blessings from these diverse religious establishments, the event highlighted the importance of unity in diversity, fostering a sense of brotherhood and mutual respect among different religious communities.
The success of Ashirwada pooja'24 was made possible through the heartfelt cooperation of revered individuals from each religious establishment. The Poosari at Pillayar Kovil, the Imam at Jumma Masjid, the Venerable at the Meththaramaya Temple, and the Priest at St. Mary’s Church, all gracefully led the prayers and blessings, showcasing their commitment to fostering harmony and understanding within the community. Their openness and involvement were key to the overall success of the event.
The unwavering dedication of the Club Members of the Leo Club of University of Colombo was the driving force behind the success of Ashirwada pooja'24. Their relentless efforts and passion for promoting interfaith understanding shone brightly throughout the event. The participants enthusiastically embraced each faith's customs and traditions, fostering an atmosphere of genuine camaraderie and respect.
As we enter the new Leoistic year 2024/25, let us carry forward the spirit of Ashirwada pooja'24. This initiative has set a profound example of how interfaith harmony and mutual respect can pave the way for a brighter future. By bridging gaps between different faiths, we can contribute to building a society where diversity is accepted and celebrated. Together, let us strive to create a world where unity and diversity coexist beautifully, leading us toward a brighter and more inclusive future.
