On 11th of November 2025, Leo club of University of Colombo successfully launched the වැඩ ලොවට - අත්වැලක් the first phase of the project දිවිසරු at Wilpotha Bandaranaike Kusalatha school. The main objective of the projectදිවිසරු” is to help people who are feeling suffered with poverty and initiating new pathways to build their own life which they can live happily & optimistically. Therefore, as our 1st phase we have selected school students who are not only engage in learning – teaching process, but who are engaging several types of vocational practices in their own school, where they tried to see the change in their lives as well as. In this phase we planned to conduct two main programs for the students. First one is Vocational Training Education awareness program and at last we conducted our second program that is to distribute essential equipment to uplift their vocational Training Unit.

The program of donating essential equipment and tools to these school students by promoting and empowering their skills and with the aim to make an opportunity to motivate them to dream big with the use of their own hidden talents. At the same time this initiative aimed to bridge the Vocational training educational gap by supplying necessary tools. This fruitful initiative reflects the commitment of Leo club to community service.

We further hosted a workshop on entrepreneurship and evaluating student’s skills, aiming to empower young minds. Vocational Training Authority also gave us their utmost support to succeed this precious event. Ms. Diththika Wanshanatha from Vocational training institute of Kurunegala attended to this program and conducted a meaningful awareness program on the topic how to become an entrepreneur by enhancing vocational training by their own skills.

This Entire program was a resounding success, with students leaving feeling inspired and motivated to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. We are proud to support our next generation of innovators and leaders. Furthermore, we evaluated these student’s skills, as we understood it inspired and encouraged them. It will be a great help for them to develop their skills more and more.

We are committed to create more opportunities for our young people. Let’s continue to support and uplift our community’s young minds. Grateful  to the Leo club of University of Colombo for their kindness and support. Stay tuned for more exciting programs!
