Leo Club of University of Colombo

The Leo Club of University of Colombo has taken steps to take the project NISAGINI forward in three phases in the year 2020/21. In this project, we pay our special attention on an identified large number of people who cannot meet their daily food needs who are underprivileged children, adults in different parts of the society . Through this project, we always strive to create "Zero hunger". The first phase of this Project organized by Leo Club of University of Colombo was successfully completed on 02nd of October 2020 at Kannanagara Vidyalaya, Thilinagama Mirigama . This phase was included an awareness program on healthy food patterns for children and parents, after that the children were provided with a nutritious breakfast and lunch . The most significant event of the Leoistic Year 2020/21 of Leo Club of University of Colombo, the 6th Annual Installation Ceremony led by Leo Nimesh Thivanka, was held on 12th September 2020 at the New Arts Theatre, University of Colombo. ලොව සංවර්ධිත රටවල් හා සංවර්ධනය වෙමින් පවතින රටවල ධනපති පන්තියත් , නිර්ධන පන්තියත් දක්නට ලැබේ . රටක සුපෝපභෝගි ලෙස දිවි ගෙවන ධනවත් පිරිසක් මෙන්ම දරිද් ‍ රතාවයෙන් පීඩා විදින දුගී ජනතාව ලෙස කොට්ඨාස ද්විත්වයක් සිටියි . ධනය අවියක් ලෙස භාවිතා කරමින් තම අවශ් ‍ යතා මෙන්ම උවමනාවන් ඉටු කරගැනීමට ධනපති පන්තියේ ජනතාවට හැකි වුවද රටක දිළිඳු බවෙන් පීඩා විදින ජනයාට ධනය නොමැති වීම නිසා ⁣ වෙන් සමාජයේ ඉතාමත් අන්ත අසරණ ජිවිකාව ගෙවනු ලබයි .  සංවර්ධනය වෙමින් පවතින රටවල් ඉන්දියාව , යුගොස්ලොවියාව , ශ් ‍ රී ලංකාව , ඊජිප්තුව වැනි රටවල් සදහන් කළ හැකිය . මෙම රටවල ඌණ සංවර්ධිත බාවය නිසාවෙන් බොහෝ ගැටලුකාරි තත්ත්වයන් වලට ජනතාවට මුහුණ දීමට සිදු වී තිබේ . එනම් , සමාජීය , දේශපාලන , සංස්කෘතික , සෞඛ් ‍ ය , ආගමික , ප් ‍ රවාහන , ආර්ථික ආදී සියලු ක්ෂේත් ‍ ර ඔස්සේ ජනතාව එම සමාජයේ ගැටලුකාරි තත්ත්වයකට මුහුණදෙනු ලබයි . මෙම රටවල ඌණ සංවර්ධනයක් තිබෙන නිසාවෙන් විරැකියාව නිසාවෙන් දරිද් ‍ රතාවයත් , සෞඛ් ‍ ය ක්ෂේත් ‍ රයේ නොදියුණ...

The project “Transition” organized by the Leo Club of University of Colombo is the first project conducted under the Leostic year of 2020/21 which was a virtual leadership conference. It was held on the 6th of June 2020 on a virtual platform via Zoom and Facebook as a timely project which presented the opportunity to the entire community as an always useful and innovative experience.  We aimed to create a better platform to develop leadership, knowledge and serve the expertise experiences for the future leaders of our country. There we mainly discussed how to identify and develop one’s hidden potentials, the importance of business etiquette, personality development and how it affects the future growth of people.
