                  විසඳමු 2025 – 1st Phase

     LEXQUEST 2025 – School Debate Tournament

The Leo Club of the University of Colombo proudly and successfully completed the first phase of our flagship project “විසඳමු 2025” with the school debate tournament “LEXQUEST 2025.” This year’s competition marked another meaningful step in our mission to promote legal literacy, critical thinking, and leadership among school students.


Day 01

Preliminary rounds and Semifinals were held on 15th November 2025, the first day commenced at 10.00 AM, bringing together young debaters from across Colombo. We initially invited 10 leading schools and finalized participation from 8 schools. However, on the morning of the tournament, one school informed us of their inability to attend, bringing the number down to 7 teams. This sudden change disrupted our planned group allocations, which were originally designed for 8 teams divided into four groups. Despite this unexpected challenge, our dedicated panel of judges "11 esteemed lawyers" guided us through the restructured rounds with professionalism and generosity. Their unwavering support enabled us to manage the situation smoothly and continue the tournament without compromising the integrity of the competition.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the schools that participated and contributed to the spirit of healthy debate: Royal College, D.S. Senanayake College, Isipathana College, Mahinda Rajapaksha College, Anula Vidyalaya, Sirimavo Bandaranayake Vidyalaya, Samudradevi Balika Vidyalaya. Among these talented competitors, D.S. Senanayake College and Sirimavo Bandaranayake Vidyalaya advanced to the final round after their impressive performances.


Day 02


The final round of LEXQUEST 2025 was held on 24th November at 2.00 PM. Five distinguished lawyers joined us as judges for the finals, ensuring a fair and insightful evaluation of the brilliant arguments presented by the finalist teams. After a highly engaging and intense debate, Sirimavo Bandaranayake Vidyalaya emerged as the champions of LEXQUEST 2025, earning well-deserved recognition for their eloquence, teamwork, and logical reasoning.

With immense joy and pride, we conclude the first phase of “විසඳමු 2025.” This project would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteer judges, the enthusiasm of the students, and the tireless efforts of our organizing committee.


The LEXQUEST tournament once again reinforced the essence of the Leo spirit: service, leadership, and commitment to empowering the community. We look forward to the upcoming phases of “විසඳමු 2025” as we continue our journey of creating meaningful impact.
