Project සෞභාග්‍යය – Phase 3: දැනුවත් හෙටක් “Youth-led awareness transforms knowledge into lasting, sustainable food systems” Project සෞභාග්‍යය   was launched to strengthen food security and restore livelihoods in Sri Lanka. After Phase 1 restored a flood damaged corn field in Anuradhapura, and Phase 2 established a chili garden for elderly residents in Horana, Phase 3 shifted to youth led awareness on hunger prevention, food safety, nutrition, and sustainable food practices. This phase recognized that lasting food security also requires an informed, responsible citizenry. In Sri Lanka, food safety awareness among school children remains critically low. Studies show Colombo students score only around 60% on food safety tests, and nearly 30% study while hungry. Social media is filled with misleading food content, and young people lack platforms to create accurate messages. The Leo Club of the University of Colombo designed Phase 3: දැනුවත් හෙටක් an interschool vide...

Safe Steps – Phase 03: සුව මංපෙත් On April 30, 2026, from 8.30 a.m. to approximately 1.00 p.m., Leo Club of the University of Colombo successfully carried out the third phase of the Safe Steps Project under the theme “ සුව මංපෙත්,” along the Baseline Road in the Orugodawatta–Dematagoda area.   The Safe Steps project is a three-stage initiative dedicated to reducing crimes and accidents in society through awareness and practical action. Baseline Road was carefully selected for this initiative as it is a highly congested and accident-prone area. Many road signs along this stretch had become unclear due to dust, weather conditions, and lack of maintenance, making it difficult for drivers and pedestrians to follow proper road guidance. Upon our request, the Road D...

Healing Aura – Phase 03: Care Today, Cure Tomorrow Turning effort into impact, even when the journey wasn’t easy. Every project looks smooth from the outside. But behind the scenes, there’s always a different story. Healing Aura – Phase 03: Care Today, Cure Tomorrow was not something that came together easily. There were delays, last-minute changes, and moments where things didn’t go as planned. At times, it felt overwhelming. But step by step, the team kept going adjusting, pushing through, and refusing to give up on what we started. And in the end, that persistence led us to something meaningful.  On the 27th of April 2026, we successfully carried out the final phase of our project at the National Ayurveda Teaching Hospital. What began as a plan turned into a real moment of impact, donating essential medicines for patients battling non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and heart conditions. More than just completing a phase!  This wasn’t just about finishing the third p...
