"Stars of the Legacy - Honoring the Heart of Service"

Project Leo Legacy effectively concluded its second phase on 27th April 2026, with an award ceremony organized by Leo Club of University of Colombo. This phase focused on recognizing the sacrifices, hard work, and successes of Leos who engaged in meaningful tasks throughout the Leoistic year. 

The event brought together notable guests, including the Chief Guest, Immediate Past District President Leo Nisal DulmithFLM; Guest of Honor, District Vice President Leo Lion RavindiHettiarachchi PFLM; and Special Guest, District Event Coordination Team Member Leo Pabasara Jayasinghe, along with the executive board, regime, and members of the club. The evening commenced with an elegant devotional performance that set a solemn and introspective tone. A welcome address from Project Secretary Leo Bimandi Gunarathna followed. 

Leo Legacy – 2026 celebrated the spirit of the Leo movement and the importance of coming together to acknowledge service and hard work. One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the address by Leo Nisal Dulmith FLM, who spoke about leadership, accountability, and the importance of consistent service. This was followed by an executive committee appreciation session, during which Leos, who had completed their assignments, were acknowledged for their hard work. It was exciting to witness the cumulative impact of months of dedication and commitment.

The awards ceremony began with an introductory video and appreciation for the executive committee, followed by honors for the Chief Editor, Best Designer, Best Project PR Coordinator, and the presentation of Project Certificates. Excellence was recognized through awards for Most Dedicated Leos, Most Outstanding Taskforce Member, Assistant Directors, Secretaries, Treasurers, Co-Chairs, Chairpersons, and the Top 10 Chairpersons. The evening concluded with the top titles: Most Outstanding Directory, Top 10 Leos, and Most Dedicated Leo. 

Awards were presented to exceptional members. These recognitions represented not just awards but reflections of the passion, hard work, and dedication demonstrated by Leos throughout the year. Each award highlighted the efforts behind every successful initiative and the positive impact made in the community.

By the end of the evening, every Leo felt respected and appreciated for their contributions. Project Leo Legacy – 2026 was more than just an award ceremony; it was a celebration of service, progress, and shared purpose. It reminded us that behind every initiative is a story of devotion and that acknowledgment plays a vital role in motivating individuals to continue making a difference.

  Celebrating and Empowering Women Batik Entrepreneurs On 27th March 2026, the first initiative of the third phase of Project  Abhimani  was successfully carried out at the auditorium of the National Crafts Council. This initial step functioned as a preliminary session aimed at empowering small-scale women entrepreneurs who had completed NVQ Level 3 in batik design. The initiative began with calling applications for the grand finale competition, followed by a comprehensive workshop designed to guide and prepare the participants. During the session, participants were educated on the competition guidelines, marking criteria, and essential marketing strategies relevant to the batik industry.
