Be Their Vision 7.0 | Phase 1
Eyes are the gateway for what we perceive and understand, only when we are able to see something, can we understand a thing in its totality, and we can realize and analyze situations first and foremost by seeing them through our own eyes. If the eyes have visual loss or blindness, they are improbable to get better vision even with proper medical treatment. However, blindness caused by corneal impairments can be cured. Just like any other body organ, the cornea of the eye can also be donated after death, which will give vision to the blind, and these donated eyes are used to restore vision in people suffering from corneal blindness. The main purpose of this phase was to restore vision in people who are suffering from corneal blindness.
On 7th December 2022 (unduvap full moon poya day) two onsite donation programs were conducted at Bellanvila Raja maha viharaya and Kotte raja maha viharaya from 9am onwards by collaborating with Sri Lanka eye donation society. Two programs were implemented in two different temples in order to reach more eye donors. Eventually, this attempt will light the lives of visually impaired around the world by offering them the precious gift of sight.
Needless to say, eye donation is truly a divine deed. What can be more noble than giving someone the gift of light and letting them see the world in colors? It is obvious that all the UOC LEOs who were there witnessed the gratefulness of the people who joined us.
