කෘතගුණ 7.0 - Phase 02

                කෘතගුණ 7.0 - Phase 02

              "දෑතේ දිරියෙන් නවමු මග"

Leo club of University of Colombo successfully organized project "කෘතගුණ 7.0" aimed at empowering individuals over 50 by providing them with knowledge and skills for self employment. Recognizing the challenges faced by elders in securing financial independence, we initiated this phase as "සවිමත් හෙටක්" to guide them towards entrepreneurship. This project sought to inspire and equip participants with essential business insights, ensuring they could generate income independently.

The first session was conducted by Mrs. Nayana Kumudini, an experienced human resource management officer, who provided an insightful discussion on entrepreneurship and human resources management. She emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency and how individuals can effectively manage human resources within their own business. Following this session, the participants were given a short refreshment break to interact and exchange thoughts on the learnings shared.

The second session was led by Ms. Kavisha Anjali, a successful self-employed entrepreneur who shared her expertise in saree making and home-based candians reproduction. He guided the participants on the basics of fabric selection, design, and marketing, offering them a practical understanding of how to build a business from home. The session was both engaging and highly informative, encouraging many participants to consider pursuing similar opportunities.

As a symbolic gesture of sustainability and self-reliance, we distributed coconut plants to all participants, reinforcing the idea of long-term growth and financial stability. After that, the event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Leo Devonz Wijethilaka, after which a commemorative photograph was taken with the participants and the organizing committee to mark the success of the initiative.

We extended our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the second phase of project "කෘතගුණ 7.0" a meaningful and impactful phase. From the guest speakers to the dedicated organizing team, each individual's efforts played a crucial role in ensuring the event's success. As we complete this phase, we look forward to continue our mission by organizing further events to support and uplift our elder community.
