This initiative aimed to emphasize the critical importance of forest preservation to the community, fostering a deeper sense of responsibility toward protecting our natural heritage.   Guided by the heartfelt belief that “Everyone Deserves to See the World,” Leo Club of University of Colombo successfully carried out Phase II of දෑසේ පැතුම — සත්කාර on 15th February at the F.I. Fernando Memorial Hall, Young Men’s   Buddhist Association, Beruwala, from 9.30 A.M. onwards. Among these, voluntary blood donation stands as one of the most powerful acts of compassion, directly supporting patients who depend on safe blood transfusions during medical emergencies, surgeries and chronic illnesses.   Project Suwadarani - දියවැඩියාවෙන් තොර හෙටක්   2 nd phase -   සුවසෙත On the 31st of January 2026, the Leo Club of University of Colombo successfully launched "Suwa Setha," the second phase of the project "Suwadharani." This impactful initiative was held at the Pulinathalarama Temple in North Kalutara. The main objective of the "Suwadharani" project is to pave the way for a diabetes-free tomorrow by organizing dedicated medical clinics to support public health. As the second phase of this mission, we conducted a comprehensive medical clinic for the residents of the area. With the active participation of qualified doctors, we performed diabetes screenings and blood sugar tests for a large number of participants.   Prarthana 8.0 Phase One: Building Unity Through Culture and Language Leo Club of University of Colombo successfully carried out the first phase of Prarthana 8.0, a community initiative designed to promote peace, cultural harmony, and mutual understanding among school children. This phase was implemented through two meaningful initiatives: Culture Harmonies and Unity Words, each addressing key social challenges faced by young communities in Sri Lanka. The first initiative, Culture Harmonies , was organized as a cultural program at a school that had not previously hosted such an event. The primary objective of this initiative was to create awareness among children about caste, religion and social differences, while encouraging acceptance and respect to reduce discrimination from a young age.
