දෑසේ පැතුම — සත්කාර

Guided by the heartfelt belief that “Everyone Deserves to See the World,” Leo Club of University of Colombo successfully carried out Phase II of දෑසේ පැතුමසත්කාර on 15th February at the F.I. Fernando Memorial Hall, Young Men’s Buddhist Association, Beruwala, from 9.30 A.M. onwards. Organized under Leo District 306 D6, this initiative was thoughtfully designed to bridge the gap between need and access by delivering quality eye care to the community. The auditorium transformed into more than just a venue for a medical camp, it became a sanctuary of compassion, where service met sincerity and every effort was driven by empathy.

Nearly 200 individuals stepped forward to receive professional eye examinations and proper eyewear support. For many, this was not merely a routine checkup but a life changing encounter a moment when blurred outlines turned into clear horizons. The simple act of fitting a pair of spectacles carried profound meaning: it restored the ability to read sacred texts, continue education without strain, work with renewed efficiency, and recognize loved ones without hesitation. Each smile that followed a successful test reflected not just improved vision, but revived confidence and independence.

Phase II of දෑසේ පැතුමසත්කාර stands as a powerful testament to what compassionate leadership can achieve. As dedicated Leos serving under Lions International, we reaffirmed our commitment to transforming small acts into lasting impact. Through Eyes of Hope, we did more than correct eyesight we restored dignity, strengthened communities, and illuminated futures. With hearts full of gratitude and purpose, we move forward inspired to light up many more lives, one pair of eyes at a time.
