2nd phase - සුවසෙත
On
the 31st of January 2026, the Leo Club of University of Colombo successfully
launched "Suwa Setha," the second phase of the project
"Suwadharani." This impactful initiative was held at the
Pulinathalarama Temple in North Kalutara. The main objective of the
"Suwadharani" project is to pave the way for a diabetes-free tomorrow
by organizing dedicated medical clinics to support public health.
As
the second phase of this mission, we conducted a comprehensive medical clinic
for the residents of the area. With the active participation of qualified
doctors, we performed diabetes screenings and blood sugar tests for a large
number of participants. This project successfully brought essential healthcare
services to the doorstep of the community, reflecting the deep commitment of
the Leo Club of University of Colombo to humanitarian service
Through
this initiative, the people living around the North Kalutara Pulinathalarama
Temple were given the opportunity to receive free diabetes testing and
professional medical consultations. The success of this project was greatly
supported by the expertise of the medical team and the invaluable guidance of
the Venerable Maha Sangha. Their collaboration ensured that the clinic was
organized effectively within the temple premises, reaching those who needed it
most.
The
entire program was a resounding success, allowing participants to not only get
tested but also receive vital medical advice to manage their health. By
providing this service, we were able to make a tangible difference in the lives
of the local community. The Leo Club of University of Colombo remains dedicated
to such noble causes and looks forward to implementing similar projects in the
future. We invite everyone to appreciate and join us in celebrating the spirit
of service displayed by our Leos.
