  PROJECT ID PHASE 01 – SAFE STOP UOC LEOS BLOG On 01st February 2026, Phase One of Project ID of Leo club university of Colombo was successfully completed and handed over to the public in a rural area of the Kilinochchi District. This phase focused on renovating a bus stop that had been severely damaged for a long period of time and was no longer safe or usable for the community. Public transportation is essential in this area, especially for school students and daily commuters. Due to the poor condition of the bus stop, passengers were forced to wait without proper shelter, exposing them to rain and strong sunlight. School students were the most affected, as they lacked a safe place to wait before and after school.  Project Diriya Pranama - Phase 2: “Prathibha Savibala (ප්‍රතිභා සවිබල)” Leo Club of University of Colombo successfully carried out the second phase of Project Diriya Pranama, titled “Prathibha Savibala (ප්‍රතිභා සවිබල)”, on 4th March 2026 at the Daya Mina Centre for Differently Abled in Nugegoda. This phase of the project was organized with the aim of empowering differently abled individuals by recognizing and strengthening their talents and abilities. During the program, we conducted vocational training sessions where the participants were guided in making doormats, improving their cooking skills, and engaging in creative art activities.   Project Dayada - Phase 02 Nawa jiwa Leo Club of the University of Colombo successfully carried out the Phase 2 project Dayada titled “Nawa jiwa” on 26th February 2026 at the premises of Sri Sumamarama Viharaya, South Etiyawala. “Mathin Thora Hetak” Phase 2 - Drawing arts demonstrate the impact of the drugs and handing leaflets to conscious individuals Leo Club of the University of Colombo continues with its effective anti-drug abuse program, Phase 2, themed “ Mathin Nidahas Samajayak” (A Society Free from the Chains of the Mind).   Hope Beyond Probation: A Step Toward Social Reintegration Through WISADAMU On the 27th of February 2026, the WISADAMU project successfully carried out a meaningful and transformative programme at the Lawris Child Development Centre. This phase was specially designed for female probationers under the age of 18, with the aim of empowering them through legal awareness, emotional engagement, and career development support as they prepare to reintegrate into society. Understanding the sensitive nature of working with probationary children, the programme began with interactive games and activities. These activities were intentionally designed to create a safe, friendly, and non-intimidating environment.
