Project Uplift – Phase Two: Rise to Lead, an outbound leadership training camp designed for undergraduates
across all academic years. This initiative aimed to empower students with
essential leadership qualities, practical skills, and the confidence required
to face future challenges.
The program commenced at 9.00 AM with great enthusiasm,
bringing together a diverse group of participants from various academic
backgrounds. It created a vibrant and energetic environment where students were
encouraged to step beyond their comfort zones and actively engage in every
session.
The
outbound training activities were the highlight of the camp. Conducted by STF
officers
D.M.S.M. Dissanayaka, J.M.S.C.
Jayawardane, and IP A.M.S. Rajitha, these
sessions included team-building exercises, problem-solving challenges, and
interactive games. Through these activities, participants developed key skills
such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, and adaptability, while also
fostering trust and collaboration among one another.
A
notable aspect of the program was its emphasis on experiential learning. Rather
than relying on traditional lecture-based methods, the camp focused on hands-on
experiences, enabling participants to understand and apply leadership concepts
in real-life situations. This practical approach made the learning process both
effective and memorable.
Beyond skill development, the camp also served as a
platform for networking and building friendships. Students from different
academic years connected, exchanged ideas, and formed lasting relationships.
The strong sense of unity and teamwork throughout the day truly reflected the
