  Celebrating and Empowering Women Batik Entrepreneurs On 27th March 2026, the first initiative of the third phase of Project  Abhimani  was successfully carried out at the auditorium of the National Crafts Council. This initial step functioned as a preliminary session aimed at empowering small-scale women entrepreneurs who had completed NVQ Level 3 in batik design. The initiative began with calling applications for the grand finale competition, followed by a comprehensive workshop designed to guide and prepare the participants. During the session, participants were educated on the competition guidelines, marking criteria, and essential marketing strategies relevant to the batik industry. Her Rights, Her Language: How Two TV Channels are Changing the Narrative for Working Women The second phase of Project  Abhimani  was successfully carried out through two impactful initiatives, with the aim of raising legal awareness among working women across Sri Lanka. Recognizing the importance of accessibility and inclusivity, the project team organized two special television programmes in both Tamil and Sinhala languages, ensuring that vital legal knowledge reached a wider and more diverse audience. The first initiative was conducted in the Tamil language in collaboration with Capital TV as the official media partner.  The third phase “Suwathra” marks the final chapter of a journey driven by impact, compassion, and community engagement of the Project Miles of Smiles 7.0. This phase is being carried out through two key initiatives scheduled for completion within the month of April, bringing the entire project to a meaningful conclusion.  On 7th of April, Leo Club of University of Colombo proudly established a fully equipped first aid room to enhance the health and hygiene of students of Elpitiya Ananda Central College as the 1st initiative of the 3rd phase “Suwathra”. Nutrition is the Most Valuable Gift You Can Give Your Child: Phase 3 of Project "Arogya" Successfully Concludes With the vision of building a healthier generation, the third phase of  Project "Arogya" was successfully held on 22nd April 2026, at  Mathwa Thalampitiya Hospital* in Kurunegala under the theme of "A Nutritious Tomorrow." This special program, targeting 50 mothers from the area, primarily aimed to update the health knowledge of mothers—the key decision-makers of a family's well-being. During the session, we emphasized the noble message that **"Proper nutrition and good health habits are the most valuable gifts you can give your child."
