Image
The third and the final phase of the project DiabCure 3.0 focused on those who are already victims of diabetes and on providing a cure for them, addressing an issue they were already facing due to the lack of medical equipment required to carry the insulin provided to them on a daily routine. For this, two hospitals were chosen: Divisional Hospital Katugahahena, and District Hospital Mathugama.      These hospitals were provided with the insulin carriers on the 28th of April 2021. Arogya - Phase 02

Image
We identified that lack of immunity and malnutrition have become one of the main issue among special needs people.  People with disabilities, whether mental or physical, are people in society who must protect their health and well-being. As previously stated, many people with disabilities are neglected by society, and many of them live in isolation from society. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this situation. As a result, people with disabilities' mental health is deteriorating and also they could not be able to take there their essential meals and medicines properly. Due to the declining living standards of the entire population in Sri Lanka, no one is coming forward to meet the health and nutrition needs of these people. Since the majority of people with disabilities are likely to suffer from lack of these essentials, second phase of the project continued to ensure and increase their immunity and health care.

Plant a Hope 3.0

Image
Just about 21% of the chemical component of air is oxygen. Nonetheless, it is important to life on Earth. From single-celled species to humans, oxygen is used to provide the energy needed to keep them alive. Trees benefit the ecosystem by supplying oxygen, improving air quality, reducing climate change, conserving water, and protecting soil. Photosynthesis is the mechanism by which trees take in carbon dioxide and provide oxygen for us to breathe. However, the majority of deforestation occurs in the tropics today. With the construction of new roads through the dense forests, previously inaccessible areas are becoming available. In response to this, Leo Club of University of Colombo initiated the project “Plant a Hope 3.0” for the third consecutive time under project category of “Environment” for the leostic year 2020/2021. Plant a Hope 3.0 is a project that we are working on to increase the Earth's green cover. Plant a Hope 3.0 would be a successful forum to inspire the society to
