Kruthaguna 6.0 - Phase II
"Bringing Healing and Hope to Elders"
In a heartening stride towards the well-being of our elder citizens, the Leo Club of University of Colombo proudly announces the successful completion of the second phase of our project, Kruthaguna 6.0 - Suwadharani. This phase, aptly named "Suwadharani," aimed to provide essential medical care to elders aged 55 and above, recognizing their invaluable contributions to our society.
Held on the 16th of March 2024 at the serene Modara Kelani Nadee Viharaya, Suwadharani was a beacon of hope for many seniors in our community. With the collaborative support of the Army Hospital and Modara Maternity Home, we were able to extend our reach and impact significantly.
The
event witnessed a heartening turnout, with approximately 75 beneficiaries
participating in the medical clinic. From health screenings to consultations,
elders received personalized care and attention, ensuring their physical
well-being.
Beyond
the medical services provided, Suwadharani fostered a sense of community and
support for our elder citizens, emphasizing their importance and value in
society. It was a testament to the power of collective efforts in making a
meaningful difference in the lives of those who have paved the way for us.
As we reflect on the success of Suwadharani, we extend our gratitude to all volunteers, partners, and supporters who made this initiative possible. Together, we continue to strive towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for our beloved elders, ensuring they lead fulfilling and dignified lives.
By,
Leo Vindi Munasinghe.
