Rang Dey'24
🌈 Rainbow born in seashore on the Dey of Rang 🌊
Rang Dey’24 was held on the February 25th at Mount Lavinia Beach, and it was an exciting and surprising event for everyone! When the sun was rising, the organizing committee was there to decorate the entrance and Mount Lavinia Sea Pal restaurant with rainbow colors.
Around 8 a.m., we were done with the decorations, and then we were proudly looking at waving color flags. These waving flags created a unique sparking color that reflects our hard work. Everyone who came to the beach for jogging, bathing, walking with their pets, as well as those who lived in the surrounding apartment, were looking at our preparation and were astonished as they hadn’t ever seen that kind of glitter on the seashore and happily bought tickets. When it was 10 a.m., Leos and Lions came to be a part of Rang Dey. Not only Leos and Lions, but also among the participants there were colleagues from different universities, schools, those who came to enjoy their weekend after working the whole week. Rang Dey stalls have provided them with drinks, foods, mehendi arts, and DJ music to give them a real Holi vibe. Until the start of the Rang Dey games all were just participants. Around 2 p.m., everyone ran outside the hotel and threw different colors and balloons filled with colored water.
As
Leos, we foster our interpersonal and organizing skills while broadening our
circle, adding various people to society, and strengthening bonds with Leos.
Primarily within our Rang Dey we have promoted social harmony among different
people belonging to different nationalities, religions, and cultures who have
walked into our festival, and it brought people together. When they divided
into team games, even Leos and Lion presidents, district leaders, secretaries,
and councilors kept aside all hierarchies and played with participants,
promoting a sense of equality and unity.
Spreading
rainbow colors with the good weather, cool wind blew under sunny clouds from
the sea, and it has made us feel like the arrival of spring, and DJ music has
escalated the joyous atmosphere. They were all allowing people to forget the
worries and stress they used to hold through the days, weeks, and months and
celebrate the present moment.
It was really amusing because when we were throwing colors, we could not see anyone, so we threw colors to everyone who met. After playing with colors, we played team games such as running, chasing, and playing with water balloons. It has provided a fun and engaging way to incorporate physical exercise into the celebration, which gave people the opportunity to come out of their busy day-to-day lives and increase social interaction. Rand Dey games led to foster social bonding and strengthened relationships. The entire event was filled with PR-boosting activities and excitement from the young people in attendance, as well as the active engagement and participation of the Lions, Leos, and visitors.
At
the end of the Rang Dey we saw in everyone’s face those clothes had an artistic
expression, which showed one certain thing: all participants had gained
unforgettable memories to cherish for a lifetime. At 5:00 pm, the end of
organizing a successful and well-managed festival, which symbolized the triumph
of the Leo Rang Dey organizing committee protecting our reputation, we cleaned
the beach and the hotel premises.
