Kruthaguna 5.0 - First Phase Manudam Mehewara Senior citizens are an integral part of a country. Sri Lanka is one of the fastest-ageing countries in the world. As a developing country, 12.3% of the population is aged 55 or older in Sri Lanka, making it the country with the highest proportion of older adults in South Asia. Older people signify a more experienced community in a country. With ageing, their health deteriorates physically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually. Older people also contribute in many ways to their families and communities. Senior citizens are a valuable asset, mainly because they are the ones who have gained sound knowledge and also great experiences. SINDU NALA RAKSHA 6.0 – PHASE I As one of the largest community service organizations in Sri Lanka, Leo Club of University of Colombo has accomplished a huge social service by fulfilling the need of mankind. As the scope of the club is not narrowed only to mankind; Project "Sindu Nala Raksha 6.0" is initiated to 'Be the voice for the voiceless'; innocent and threatened heirs of the earth. So in first phase we decided to focus on one special species; Elephants which are the largest existing land animal on earth. They are currently under a severe threat in Sri Lanka due to human-elephant conflict and continuous unexpected accidents. Hence we thought of planning an assistance program for those who take care about injured and helpless elephants. As a result we could successfully complete the first phase of Sindu Nala Raksha on 22nd of February 2023 as a volunteering program at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Happiness Ever wondered about the idea of true happiness? A bit too philosophical a question for the sake of everyday life but think about it. Every single aspect of human life shows our need to be happy. Happiness is both the drive and end goal of success. At the end of the day, everyone needs to feel happy. It is at the very core of human existence. All we ever want is to be happy But what does it mean to be happy? The tricky thing about happiness is it does not have an exact shape or texture, no one can quite capture or explain the essence of being happy. Happiness is entirely an internal feeling. The state of being optimistic comes from within. It is the ultimate purpose of human life. Everyone has their definitions and opinions of happiness. This diversity of opinions makes happiness an interesting concept. In my point of view, happiness is all about freedom, simplicity and acceptance. My most recent happy memory is when I was riding my scooter around the neighbourhood as fast

ALPHABETZ – " Learn Today for Better Tomorrow " As Kofi Annan once said, literacy is the path to human progress and the means by which every man, woman and child can realize his or her full potential. Literacy in the English language has grown to be crucial in today's society. This is due to the fact that the present framework for English and literacy encourages the development of critical and creative thinking as well as the personal, interpersonal, and collaborative skills that are essential in both life and the workplace. As LEOs, we have chosen to resume the path of young children's English learning, which has stagnated as a result of a number of social and economic problems that have previously existed in Sri Lanka. We as the Leo Club of University of Colombo Leo District 306 C1 , have selected St. Thomas’ College, Kotte for this action, where children with economic difficulties study. In this way we did our third phrase of continuous project series ALPAHBET
