Diyani 8.0 - Phase 03

          Empower Women, Ignite Innovation, Break Barriers and Shape the Future


In a continuous effort to empower women entrepreneurs, Leo Club of University of Colombo proudly organized initiatives as "Entrepreneurial Bakes-off'25" and "She Shapes" under the third phase of project Diyani 8.0. These initiative dedicated women entrepreneurs to fostering skills development and economic growth. The first initiative commenced with an exciting cake competition on 9th March 2025 at the St. John's College, Nugegoda, designed to provide a platform for talented women bakers to showcase their baking skills and creativity. This competition was not only a celebration of culinary artistry but also an opportunity for participants to gain recognition and motivation for the entrepreneurial journey. The event featured many beautiful cakes and after a tough competition, the judges selected the winners, who were awarded gifts and certificates. All competitors received a certificate in recognition for their dedication and creativity as women entrepreneurs. The event was further honoured by the District President of Leo District 306 C1, Leo Nisal Dulmith FLM and Chief Region Chairperson of Leo District 306 C1, Leo Lion Ravindi Hettiarachchi PFLM, whose support and encouragement added great value to the initiative.


Building on this momentum, the second initiative of the 3rd phase of project Diyani 8.0 introduced a resin art workshop on 25th of March at Faculty of Management and Finance, targeting aspiring women entrepreneurs look into explore new avenues in creative businesses. This hands-on session provided participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to craft beautiful resin-based products, opening doors to potential income generating ventures. The workshop was an inspiring experience, equipping women with both technical expertise and confidence to turn their creativity into sustainable businesses. Buy encouraging self-reliance through artistic expression, the second initiative rainforest the importance of skill-based entrepreneurship.


Through these two impactful initiatives, project Diyani 8.0 successfully created a platform where women could not only exhibit their talent but also acquire practical knowledge that would contribute to them for their financial independence. The project served as a reminder that empowering women entrepreneurs will foster their passion, fostering self-confidence and offering the necessary resources to thrive. Witnessing the enthusiasm and dedication of participants reaffirmed the club's commitment to fostering a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs.

Your commitment and collective effort played a crucial role in bringing this initiative to life, impacting the lives of aspiring women entrepreneurs.
