Project Off-Grid SDG Lens in Action – Phase 02
Project Off-Grid
SDG Lens in Action –
Phase 02
The SDG Lens in Action initiative was the second phase of the project Off-Grid. The whole project was aimed at spotlighting the less focused sustainable development goals, and the second phase of it specifically focused on actively implementing initiatives to achieve the less focused SDGs. To implement the initiative, we collaborated with several Leo Clubs around the world. So, all partnered clubs carried out different initiatives starting from the 1st of March to the 15th of March, with each country focusing on different, less focused SDGs based on their local needs and priorities.
During this period, a series of impactful initiatives were carried out across the globe, reflecting a shared commitment to creating meaningful change. In Sri Lanka, a mangrove restoration project was successfully conducted at the Bluewave Sea Turtle Hatchery Centre, contributing to SDG 14: Life Below Water and SDG 15: Life on Land. In Nigeria, Leo Clubs implemented food distribution programs alongside social awareness initiatives, addressing SDG 2: Zero Hunger. In India, the Leo Club of Diphu Aspire focused on environmental conservation and
animal welfare, supporting SDG 15. Similarly, in Brazil, the Leo Club of Garibaldi led wildlife awareness campaigns aligned with SDG 15, while in Nepal, the Leo Club of Kathmandu Nirbana promoted gender equality and inclusive education, contributing to SDG 5: Gender Equality and broader social development goals.
These synchronized global efforts highlight the power of collaboration and diversity in action, where we aimed to transcend borders, uniting Leos across nations to turn ideas into real, impactful SDG action. Each country addressed different SDGs, yet all initiatives shared a common purpose, creating positive change within their communities. SDG Lens in Action demonstrates how coordinated global participation can lead to meaningful and sustainable impact, inspiring individuals and communities to work together toward a better future.
