  The Leo Club of University of Colombo, continuing the efforts of the third phase of Project Diyani 7.0, has set its sights on transforming the lives of the women entrepreneurs in Matugama. The primary focus of the project was to empower and uplift women entrepreneurs in the area through education and skill development. As an initial step, we coordinated with the Women's Development Officer at the Divisional Secretariat Office in Matugama and secured their assistance in identifying women most in need. Consequently, we identified over 50 women entrepreneurs from Naravila, Matugama area. It’s noteworthy that the Vidatha Resource Center in Kalutara partnered with us, providing the necessary support to seek the resource person. It was a day dedicated to honoring Sri Lanka's artistic luminaries from various fields who had made significant contributions during the vibrant eras of the 70s and 80s. As the sun rose, the Prof. Jayarathna Auditorium filled with anticipation. Seven esteemed artists, spanning across different artistic disciplines, were among those celebrated for their remarkable contributions. On April 29th, 2024, a remarkable transformation took place at Bellana Maha Vidyalaya in Matugama, due to the proactive efforts of the LEO Club of University of Colombo. In the third phase of Project One Drop 6.0, the LEO members took on the vital responsibility of restoring a sustainable water supply system for the school, which had been struggling from insufficient access to clean water due to malfunctioning equipment. The absence of a reliable water supply posed significant challenges for both students and staff at Bellana Maha Vidyalaya. Imagine trying to focus on learning without access to something as basic as clean water for drinking, sanitation, and hygiene. The situation was dire, affecting not only the educational environment but also the overall well-being of the school community.   Recognizing the urgent need for action, the LEO Club of University of Colombo sprang into action.
