     Lead C1 – Phase 02 “Beyond Boundaries”

           Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders

Leo Club of University of Colombo proudly launched the 2nd phase of Project “Lead C1” on the 30th of April, titled "Beyond Boundaries," at Sri Prakrama Maha Vidyalaya, Panagoda from 1.30 p.m. onwards. This transformative initiative was designed to guide students on their journey through careers and entrepreneurship, opening their minds to new possibilities and equipping them with essential life skills. The event began with a warm welcome by the school Principal, who emphasized the importance of such mentorship programs in shaping the future of students. Around 60 enthusiastic students gathered for the session, ready to learn, grow, and dream beyond the traditional classroom.

The first speaker, E.D.S. Hansani, Assistant Announcer, Human Development skills, and Child Psychologist, kicked off the session with an energetic and interactive talk. She captured the attention of the students with relatable examples and introduced them to three “magic” tips for personal growth and development. Her insights on emotional intelligence and self-awareness left a lasting impression on the young audience.

Then came the vibrant and fearless Bhagya Sinhawansa, a freelance entrepreneurial journalist who brought the theme of the day to life. Her session didn’t just talk about entrepreneurship, it breathed it. With hands-on activities and heart-to-heart conversations, she guided students on how to cultivate entrepreneurial skills from nurturing creativity and resilience to managing time, building networks, and developing leadership. She emphasized that entrepreneurship isn’t just about starting businesses, it’s about having the courage to take initiative and create value wherever you are. She encouraged the students to think ahead, plan boldly, and most importantly, believe in themselves. “The future isn’t a place you go to,” she said, “it’s something you build, step by step.”

As a token of appreciation, certificates were awarded to all students, recognizing their enthusiasm and commitment to personal development. Teachers at the school expressed their gratitude and praised the Leo Club for its impactful initiative, encouraging more such empowering events in the future. "Beyond Boundaries" was not just a session, it was a spark of inspiration. With mentors, motivation, and a mission to uplift youth, this project proved that when guidance meets curiosity, boundaries become beginnings.
