Project ID - Phase 02

           Connecting Dreams

The final step in Project ID's mission

Project ID is an initiative dedicated to uplifting communities across Sri Lanka by addressing essential infrastructure needs. With a focus on sustainable development, the project envisions a Sri Lanka where every citizen has access to the facilities they need to thrive. Following a successful first phase, the second phase marked a pivotal step in its mission to bridge critical gaps in underserved regions.

In an era where globalization connects the world more than ever, it's disheartening to witness that many rural schools in Sri Lanka still lack access to basic digital resources. While urban areas flourish with technological advancements, students in remote regions remain disconnected, highlighting a significant digital divide.

The second phase of Project ID was carried out at NWP/M/M Hithokadawala Secondary School in Maho on April 25, 2025. During our initial visit, a conversation with the school principal shed light on an urgent issue, the complete lack of access to digital tools and internet facilities. In an age where communication and information are largely driven by technology, the absence of even basic computer literacy was deeply concerning. In response, the team took swift action. We provided the school with a complete internet connection setup, including a Dialog Wi-Fi router, and donated a multifunctional printer along with a bundle of A4 sheets. For many students, this was their very first interaction with the internet. The sight of them discovering how to browse, search, and print for the first time was not just heartwarming, it was a powerful reminder of the inequality that still exists in access to education.

This initiative not only enhanced the school’s functionality but opened a gateway to knowledge that was previously out of reach. It was more than a donation, it was an introduction to a world of possibilities. The joy and curiosity reflected in the students’ eyes reminded us why projects like this matter. As Project ID concludes its journey, it leaves behind a legacy of empowerment and hope. The smiles on the students' faces serve as a testament to the project's success and the enduring value of investing in community development. It reaffirms the belief that meaningful change begins with providing opportunities for all. And at NWP/M/M Hithokadawala Secondary School, we witnessed the beginning of a brighter, more connected future.
