Project Sybey Suraksha - Phase 02

 

In our ongoing commitment to create a safer online environment, we proudly launched Project Cyber Suraksha in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Ratnapura. As we entered the final phase of this journey, we divided it into two key parts to reach different age groups with targeted messages.

The first part of this final phase focused on kids below the age of 15. In an interactive session specially designed to engage young minds, we educated them about the good and bad uses of mobile phones. Through games, stories, and real-life examples, we made it easier for these young children to understand the potential risks and best practices when using mobile devices.

Next, we shifted our attention to Advanced Level students at Newstead Girls' College, Negombo. As teenagers are among the most active users of mobile technology today, it was crucial to aim them with the knowledge to navigate the digital world responsibly. We were honored to welcome Leo Nisal Dulmith, the District President of Leo District 306 C1, and Police Sergeant Shantha Perera as our guest speakers. Together, they led dynamic and interactive sessions that encouraged open discussion and active participation. Several teachers from the college, including the school’s Counseling Teacher, also joined us to support the initiative and guide the students throughout the session.

To wrap up Project Cyber Suraksha, we held multiple interactive activities aimed at making young people more aware of the dangers of cyberbullying and the proper steps to take if their intimate content were ever leaked or shared online without consent. These discussions were especially timely and much needed, given the increasing risks that young people face in today's digital landscape.Through Project Cyber Suraksha, we were able to spark important conversations and empower the next generation with the knowledge to protect themselves online. We believe that small steps like these will pave the way for a safer, more responsible cyber world for everyone.
