Prarthana 6.0 - Phase II
In a world that values and celebrates diversity, cultural activities can serve as a way to connect people from different backgrounds. At the Leo Club of the University of Colombo, we strongly believe in the power of art, music, and aesthetics to foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. We aim to create an inclusive platform where children from diverse backgrounds could come together to showcase their artistic talents and promote cultural understanding. Our goal was to use the universal language of creativity to celebrate diversity.
With the title of “Cultural Activities”, we launched an art competition at Siri Indra Rathana Dharma Vidyalaya, as the third phase of project “Prarthana 6.0”. We have invited students of all grades in Siri Indra Rathana Dharma Vidyalaya to submit their original paintings. As the competition came to a close, we held a celebration to recognize the talent and creativity of all participants. Winning paintings were acknowledged for their artistic merit. We have selected the first, second and third places and shared some gifts with them.
However, the true
success of the event was the collaborative spirit that permeated throughout the
competition. Together, we created a vibrant tapestry of cultural expression
that showcased the beauty of our shared humanity. Reflecting on the success of
our art competition, we are motivated to continue our efforts to promote
cultural activities and planting the sense of creativity in the child
generation.
In a world that is
often divided, initiatives like these serve as a beacon of hope and unity.
Moving forward, we remain committed to celebrating diversity, nurturing
creativity, and building bridges that transcend cultural boundaries. Cultural
activities have the power to unite us in our shared humanity. Through our art
competition, we have witnessed the transformative impact of creativity,
collaboration, and cultural exchange. As we look to the future, let us continue
to embrace diversity, celebrate cultural richness, and cultivate a world where
everyone's unique voice is heard and valued.
As members of the Leo Club of University of Colombo, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community through this project initiative. We thank Rev. Ahungalle Rathnasiri thero and the teaching staff of Siri Indra Rathana Dharma Vidyalaya, all top board members of our club, who were incredibly supportive, committed project members and everyone who shared their kind hands with us.
In addition, we have shown that when individuals come together with a shared vision and a commitment to service, anything is possible. Thank you for joining us on this inspiring journey of service, fellowship, and meaningful impact.
