Sahurda Viyamana – Phase V
One of the highlights of the day was the presence of Mr. Indika Wickramasooriya, a distinguished lawyer, who generously lent his expertise as a resource person. Mr. Wickramasooriya engaged with the inmates, offering profound insights into the meaning behind the songs performed during the session. However, in consideration of privacy concerns raised by the officers, we respected their decision not to permit photography of the inmates. Upholding the dignity and confidentiality of the participation of the individuals was our utmost priority.
To foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere, we
treated them with a piece of a cake and papaya juice as refreshments for the
inmates. This small gesture aimed to add a touch of comfort and hospitality to
the event, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the experience. Furthermore,
our Leos took center stage, lending their voices to sing songs that resonated
throughout the rehabilitation center. Led by Leo Chamara Ranasinghe, who
moderated the session with grace and enthusiasm, the musical performances brought
joy and camaraderie to all present.
As the session drew to a close, the officers expressed their sincere gratitude to the Leo Club for their unwavering support and dedication. Their acknowledgment underscored the significant impact of the club's involvement in enriching the rehabilitation experience for the inmates. It was a moment of reflection on the power of collaboration and compassion in creating meaningful change. Through our collective efforts, we reaffirmed our commitment to making a positive impact and supporting the rehabilitation journey of those in need.
