Project Lead C1
The project Lead C1 organized by the Leo Club of University of Colombo with the objective of empowering the young generation in order to prepare them to take responsibilities of the country as more sensible adults. Although society does not give prominence to this topic of “Youth Empowerment”, it has a significant impact on society as youth is the future of a country. By initiating this project, we anticipated that youth would get the opportunity to develop leadership skills, personal growth, strategic thinking, conflict management, team building, entrepreneurship development, creative thinking, developing soft and technical skills and help the economy and themselves by starting businesses as emerging youth entrepreneurs and leaders of the country.
Phase 01 – An Outbound Training Program for Leos and non-leos to enhance leadership skills, personality development, team spirit building and strategic thinking. The program was executed on 4th of March from 8.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. at the University of Colombo Premises. The OBT training was conducted by the well trained OBT Instructors of Department of Physical Education, University of Colombo
Phase 02 – An Entrepreneurship Development Program for young individuals who are enthusiastic about becoming an entrepreneur. The program was conducted on 23rd March 2023 from 12.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. at the Faculty of Management & Finance, University of Colombo. The Sessions were conducted by the Guest Speakers, Mr. Upali Jayasekara Chairman/Managing Director, MEGA Heaters (Pvt) Ltd. and Dr. Tissa Ravinda Perera Head/Senior Lecturer, Department of Management & Organization Studies, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo about the topics of ‘Who is an entrepreneur?’, ‘Financial Literacy for Entrepreneurs and ‘How to Start a Business?’ respectively.
By executing these two phases of the project Lead C1 we were expected to develop Leadership Skills, Personality development, Strategic thinking, team spirit building, entrepreneurship development and creativity among the youth to prepare them as responsible young adults who change their lives and contribute to the sustainable development of the country as good citizens. Thereby the project Lead C1 has successfully completed by evoking young generation’s true potentials and the leader in themselves. We are pleased to apprise that more than 100 young individuals participated and get the benefit from Project Lead C1. We believe that this attempt has changed their lives and empowered them to be the best version of themselves.
