Manusath Viyamana Phase 03
"There must be a better way to make the things we want, a way that doesn’t spoil the sky, or the rain or the land.” - Paul McCartney
The Sustainable Development Goals are currently the center of attention for the entire world. In Sri Lanka, numerous initiatives are being carried out to meet sustainable development targets by 2030.
The Manusath Viyamana 23 initiative was developed by the University of Colombo's Leo club as a further step towards accomplishing sustainable development objectives. The Sustainable Development Goals are directly relevant to the Manusath Wiyamana initiative. The project's primary goal is to lay the groundwork needed to improve the level of living for those who are living in rural districts of Sri Lanka. This undertaking is carried out in three stages.
Improvement of women entrepreneurs are the important requirement of modern development. The women entrepreneurs are experiencing insufficiency in monetary assets and working capital. Through our 3rd phase of the project we promoted women’s entrepreneurship by encouraging and supporting women to start their own businesses and contribute to sustainable economic growth. The third phase of Manusath Viyamana project was implemented on March 31st, 2023 from 10am to 12pm in Lakmuthu Sewana, Galathibu Watta, Godagama, Matara. During the project we were able to provide salon equipment and furniture and organized a small opening ceremony also.
Investigating the issues related to female entrepreneurship is equally important. They might face the problems of women entrepreneurship and might fail in playing the role of women entrepreneurs, but if we provide our support they will definitely achieve the impossible. Finally we achieved it.
The valuable support of our sponsors is the major source of funding for the project. We would like to extend our gratitude towards Cotton Feel Textiles for partnering up with the Manusath Wiyamana team to proceed with this worthy cause.
So that marks the end of our project Manusath Wiyamana. We would like to express our gratitude towards all the members of the Leo club of University of Colombo for helping us with all the means to make this project a success. We hope that we were able to bring happiness to someone's life and it will sustain for a long time.
