Project One Drop 5.0 - Phase 1
Rising energy consumption in Sri Lanka is a current problem. The "One Drop 5.0" project, organized for the 5th time by the Leo Club of the University of Colombo, offered practical solutions to that problem.
As the first phase of the "One Drop 5.0" project, an awareness program led by school students about renewable energy consumption, energy conservation, and renewable energy use will be held on the 21st of April from 8.30 am to 10.30 am at the Mahamodara Kannangara College, Galle. An awareness program on accurate energy consumption, energy conservation, and the use of renewable energy was held under Lion Chatura Weliwitiya, chairman of Human and Environment Links, Progressive Organization, Managing director of Help O Eco Green Ltd, Cabinet officer-Lion District 306 A2.
Simultaneously, a quiz program and a drawing competition were held with the above awareness program, and valuable prizes were awarded to the winners. A total of 67 members participated in this program, with 37 school students, five other people, including teachers, 23 Leo members, and prospectors. Lion Chatura Welivitiya, who came as the guest speaker for this program, the college principal and teachers, and the students who participated in the program expressed their gratitude towards the "One Drop 5.0" team and the Leo Club of the University of Colombo for conducting such a program.
