Miles of Smiles 4.0 phase 2
Children may benefit significantly from organized athletics in terms of their physical health, cognitive development, psychological health, and social interaction. Children who participate in sports develop emotional regulation skills and learn to use their negative emotions for positive purposes. Children who participate in athletics improve their resilience and self-confidence. Additionally, cricket is one of the most popular sports in Sri Lanka and has an enormous following. All youngsters dream to play cricket during their time in school, but some of them cannot realize their aspirations.
This is Miles of Smile 4.0's second phase, which primarily focuses on young people who aspire to be all-around athletes. Every child has a different set of dreams; they are not all the same. We try to temper the sporting dreams of some children because some want to be teachers, some want to be athletes, and some want to be artists.
In order to realize these children's goals, we Leos set out to identify those who had achieved a lot while having to deal with subpar facilities. Therefore, we decided to start the second phase at Diyagama Maha Vidyalaya. We donated sporting goods and hosted a motivating seminar with Mrs. Anjali Buddhawatta during the second phase. This school's students from all grades have taken part in the session.
In this phase, we attempt to lend these kids a helping hand so they can accomplish many more things in sports while pursuing their aspirations.
